Meet Our New Senior WordPress Engineer, Nate Allen!

Welcome Nate Allen, the newest member to join the Linchpin team! We are so happy to have Nate’s talent and expertise as a seasoned WordPress engineer. Here’s a little background on this Irish developer who’s been known to sport a green cowboy hat around the office.

Where did you work before this, what experience do you have from there?

I worked for Firefly Partners, a distributed agency that focuses on nonprofits. I was the Senior Web Developer.

What is your career focus?

My main focus and passion is building complex WordPress solutions.

How would describe yourself with three words?

Smart, witty and organized.

What is currently your computer background?

My desktop background is a panoramic photo of Hong Kong at night.

If money didn’t matter, what would you do all day?

Play with my son and build furniture.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When people drive slow in the passing lane!

What makes you bored?

When I’m not being challenged or doing repetitive tasks.

Tell me about something you would happily do again?

I ran in a zombie-themed 5K… it was awesome. I would love to do that again.

What are your three most overused words or phrases?

“Yeah, no”, “Legit”, and “So…”

What are two things you have with you at all times?

Cell phone and wallet

How would you define success?

Loving what you do, living life to the fullest, and leaving a positive mark on the world.

What advice would you give to your 18 year old self?

Don’t wait for things to happen, make things happen!

What is the first thing on your bucket list?

Travel all over Ireland.

Favorite activities on your day off?

Home renovations, woodworking, relaxing with my family, and coding side projects.

What is one thing you can’t live without?

Coffee.

What does true leadership mean to you?

Leading by example and empowering others to do their best.

With a keen eye for detail, Mary Beth dreams of a pixel perfect world. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History, Mary Beth’s love of learning sent her back to her alma mater where she further explored her passion for information architecture and user experience, earning a degree in Web & Interactive Design.
