And The Winner Is…

We are so excited to announce that Linchpin won the HOW Magazine Promotion & Marketing Design Award for the WordCamp US 2015 branding, marketing materials, and website! As HOW’s longest running competition, we are thrilled to be recognized alongside 100 other amazing agencies and artists across the world.

With (almost) all of our client sites powered by WordPress, giving back to the WordPress community is something near and dear to our hearts here at Linchpin. Not only are we active members of local WordPress Meetup groups, but we also help organize and participate in local WordCamps (with WordCamp Rhode Island right around the corner!), conferences centered around the WordPress platform, occurring annually across the globe.

For those of you who don’t know, 2015 marked the very first WordCamp US ever. We were honored to be chosen to create the branding for the national event that would be carried throughout all marketing materials, in addition to designing and building out the website that would host all things WCUS 2015.

HOW Fall 2016 Promotion & Marketing Award

Hosted in Philadelphia, the city’s rich history greatly inspired the branding and creative direction. Pulling from the past, the concept was initially based on the old-school look and feel of boxing posters from the era of greats like “Smokin’ Joe Frazier” and evolved from there. Learn more about our inspiration over on the 2015 WordCamp US blog, and check out the project’s open source code on CodePen and assets Dribbble. Stay tuned for a full case study coming soon!
